Lordsbridge brings together eleven Church of England parishes, covering an area approximately ten miles square just west of Cambridge.
Lordsbridge Team Ministry formally became a legal reality in 2010, but we have been working together and growing closer together over a number of years.
Our stipendiary clergy meet to plan and pray weekly, and there are regular meetings of all the ordained and lay ministers of the area.
Please explore the website to find out more about our vision and what we offer...
As this August edition of Lordsbridge Life reaches you, we will still be in Summer holiday mode, but it's not long until the new school year begins, and with it, life begins to pick up pace again.
In September, Comberton Village College opens its new Sixth Form. Most but not all of our villages already send children to the Village College from the ages of 11-16. All of our parishes are going to see young people joining the new Sixth Form for ages 16-18, as it opens this year and grows to full size next year.
Through WCCYM (West Cambridge Christian Youth Ministries) the churches of the area already have an excellent relationship with the Village College.
Teresa, our Lordsbridge youth ALM, goes into the school, along with youth leaders from the other churches locally.
The plan is for an even stronger link to develop, wi th Susie Thompson (WCCYM's paid youth worker) and other volunteers providing pastoral support and a Christian presence in the Sixth Form.
This is a remarkable moment of opportunity in a country which can seem increasingly secularised. There will be more information available in our churches over the next few weeks.
Please be considering whether you might be able to support WCCYM's work financially.
Even more importantly, please pray for the work of WCCYM, and for the link with the new Sixth Form as it grows and develops.
Mike Booker,
Team Rector
