'The Roundels of Haslingfield Church and Icons for the Masses'

Have you visited the Family History Corner in Haslingfield Church? No?
Then you have a surprise in store. We claim to be the only church in
West Cambridgeshire that services the Ancestral seeking visitor, that
is if you come in person. The facilities that are available include a
Surname Index, Memorial Inscriptions and Searches carried out for other
enquirers. On special days, such as Coffee Mornings, the Burial
Database is demonstrated. If you are unable to come in person and
think you have ancestors who came from Haslingfield, please feel free
to contact the Church Archivist by writing to the following address:
39 Church Street, Haslingfield, Cambridge CB23 1JE, including if
possible an e-mail address for a highspeed reply, and he will be able
to tell you whether you are on the right track.

For those who are able to visit the church, there is another treasure
that must not be missed, and that is to be found high up above your
head on the Chancel ceiling. In the Visitors Centre, there is a free
guide sheet that explains and indentifies all the strange symbols that
were painted by a Victorian vicar after he had cleaned and restored the
beautiful 17th century decorations.

'The Roundels of Haslingfield Church and Icons for the Masses'
The work of Harold Hopkins of Haslingfield.
It was part of a Coffee Morning on the 9th Feb and helped to raise
about £150 for the Church Restoration Fund. The Roundels featured
several of the church windows, not normally visible from ground level.
